We all like to be 'perfect' or show detail in whatever we paint. We don't have to make it look 'perfect'. Take a landscape and five different artists and you'll get five different interpretations of that same landscape. Whatever is in your head, whatever you see out in life, and on the landscape, will translate onto the canvas as YOUR OWN CREATION. It doesn't have to look 'perfect'. No matter what, it will be YOU.
I've been painting like crazy these past few weeks. What? I have been painting landscapes. Let me point something out there, that I have been watching various videos on YouTube and other web sites as to how to paint landscapes and I have to say there is NO STANDARD as to what is 'right' or 'wrong' about how to do paint landscapes. EVERYONE has their own method. The one thing that is the same throughout the various web sites and videos is that the picture that is your head, that you see, is translated and interpreted and put on the canvas. Simple. Right? No so much.

The Artist at Work
You know, if I keep this up, we'll have to move to another place that's bigger. I keep painting and painting. Currently I have 24 FINISHED pieces. I have a few that aren't finished. In total, I have about 30 or more pieces. Wow! I'm like a kid in a candy store. What else should I do?
Thank you for your interest in my artwork. I appreciate it. If you are interested in buying my art there are a few things I would like to tell you.
1) I'm only ONE person. I don't have staff to fill orders so if you buy my art or a piece I have done, it will take me awhile to get the order together, go to the Post Office, etc. and that takes time. Allow about 3 weeks for delivery. 2) My art is ONE of a kind. You may have seen similar pieces, possibly the same 'themes', etc. but, mine are simply my own, unique. They will be signed by me personally. 3) You may like a lot of my pieces. Thanks. If you want more than one, it'll take time for me to put together the packing, etc. (refer to #1). Thanks for your support. For more, check out the 'Connections' page. Questions? Email me. Thanks.

Picture Taken by Rev. Wayne S Pierce (c)2013 Painting Landscapes When we're out walking and we see the hills and valleys outside of town something happens in my mind. I think, "I can paint that." Your mind is the 'mental camera' to which you develop the 'photo' which, at some point, will be transferred to the canvas. What does one do when that picture of a mountain, or a hill, or a valley is sitting there in your mind? You do what you can to make that picture come to life! I pull out my canvas and my paints and my brushes and I see what I can do. I'm not the best at what I do but I think I do an adequate job at 'copying' and 'pasting' what I have in my mind onto the canvas. The picture I have here was taken before I began getting all my art supplies together to do what I do now. For me to 'transfer' what I see to the canvas isn't that difficult. Shapes, sizes, perspectives, etc. all go into my work. One by one the painting comes to life. I'm not perfect, just determined to make what I see in my mind look somewhat exact on canvas. Painting Buildings and Skylines Not only do I paint landscapes, I have recently attempted to paint buildings and skylines. That is a lot more difficult than I first thought. But, as time goes on, as with anything you attempting for the first time, you get better as you go along. Any artist that has started out usually winds up not liking a whole lot of what they do AT FIRST. Believe me, what I did before these you see here, I wouldn't let a Kindergartner use them in 'Show and Tell'. But, as usually, I get better as I go along.

When you get the 'itch' to paint, there's nothing stopping you. I have MORE pieces to show at Nada Dada this year. (Nada Dada Motel; http://nadadadamotel.weebly.com) Are my pieces For Sale? Yes, and some you can actually make an offer on. I won't put there here but I will email you a watermarked picture in your email if you want to see what I have. I know I have a 'Gallery' here but, for now, I will wait before I post them here. 24 Pieces I have just taken pictures of the finished pieces I have for my records. There are 24 . . . I repeat 24 pieces that I have created in the past several months. And I can truly say that I am pleased with the progress of my talent. More To Come Simple. That says it all. "More To Come". June 13th - June 16th
ALL ARTISTS ARE WELCOME! For more information . . . http://nadadadamotel.weebly.com If I keep this up, I'll have to sell a few just to make room for more.
I'm doing at least two paintings every other day. Well, seems like I'm on a roll. I'm also running out of canvas. So, as soon as I get more canvas I'll paint more. I have 4 left. I have three or four unfinished works and then . . . all done! That's until I get more canvas and paint. :) Questions? Email |
